Happy Mother’s Day2021-05-05T16:15:58+00:00

Happy Mother’s Day.

At Transcend Orthotics and Prosthetics, we would like to say Happy Mother’s Day! We are thankful to partner with moms who have sacrificed, endured, and pushed forward for the common good of our communities. Thank you for your unrelenting drive to our industry. We appreciate your empathy, grace, and strength! We celebrate our Transcend clinicians who are moms – you can see a few below as they share their family photos and thoughts on motherhood.

We dedicate this article to all mothers in the healthcare field.

We can’t direct the wind, but we can adjust our sails.

As a healthcare professional and mom, we are lucky that the time we spend away from our kids and families is spent potentially changing the lives of other kids and their families.  Being able to go home and tell your kids stories about the resiliency and challenges some of the kids we work with have overcome is heartwarming, motivating, and hopefully makes them proud of their mom for having a small part in someone else’s journey.

I have learned that every working mom is a Superhero! I love my baby girl and I love working because I love what I do. I hope my little girl will grow up and see me passionate about my career and helping people and that it will inspire her to find her own true passion and not see work as just a job you have to do.

“There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one.” – Jill Churchill

Certified Orthotist and Prosthetics for Merrillville, IN

“I think every working mom probably feels the same thing: You go through big chunks of time where you’re just thinking “This is impossible – oh this is impossible.” And then you just keep going and keep going, and you sort of do the impossible.”

– Tina Fey

“I feel very proud to be part of Transcend.  I love that I have helped other moms provide for their families while working to provide opportunities for our patients and their families.  Our kids see what we do for others and grow in compassion and understanding with a desire to serve others.”

Pam Veldman
Chief Operating Officer for Transcend

One of the best things about being a working mother is coming home and having your child ask about how your day was, then wanting to know if you helped more kids today.

I enjoy being able to provide a service to a community that many people may not be aware of. To families who are very appreciative of what we do and to children who have the best look on life, happy and excited to receive their orthoses. As a mother I hope that my son will appreciate the little things and remember to enjoy what he does as much as I do.

Maria Perez
Office Manager for Houston, Spring, and Katy, TX and Springfield, MO

Work hard, but love harder. Make quality time not quantity and always be kind.

Share with your children what we do with O&P. Talk about how awesome our patients are, some of their difficulties, their strengths, how amazing they are. This is how we promote inclusion and compassion to the next generation.

Mellissa Frietchen
Certified Orthotist for Springfield, MO

I am grateful to be part of Transcend! I enjoy being part of something bigger than me with an incredible mission! A big thank you to all the other hard working moms out there who make sacrifices with the same goals of transforming the lives of others with compassion and grace.
