Chris George wears plenty of professional hats.
He is not just a certified and licensed orthotist. He also serves as the Practice Manager for our Fort Wayne office as well as the Regional Clinical Operations Manager at our Fort Wayne, Cincinnati, Louisville, and Jackson locations.
Even with all of those managerial responsibilities, he is intentional about taking time to see people. What makes Chris a favorite among our patients is his ability to connect on a personal level. He truly cares, and patients feel that in his presence.
Chris says, “As clinicians for orthotic and prosthetic services, we strive to exceed the expectations of our families and referrals in all the communities we serve. Each clinician’s training is focused around compassion and leaving a lasting impression of how deeply we care for the ones we serve. We want them to feel like family.”
What makes him stand out among our other clinicians is that, in addition to being an orthotist, he is also a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant. This allows Chris to see each obstacle from multiple perspectives incorporating material science to assist in addressing physical and occupational therapeutic goals.
Chris’s passion for patient care is evidenced by his willingness to address patient needs beyond office hours. One of his most challenging cases was designing a cervical/thoracic orthosis to help a 2 y/o hold her head up while she learned to take her first steps. Collaboration with family, home care nurses and physicians led to a unique one-off style orthosis that allowed the child to begin standing with minimal assistance. She now cruises across furniture without help.
With over 20 years of combined therapy/orthotic experience, and a diverse patient population, Chris specializes in three specific subject matters:
- Pediatric Neurology
- Neuromuscular/Idiopathic scoliosis
- Cranial Remolding Orthoses
If you would like to learn more about either of these topics and are located in the Fort Wayne area, contact us to schedule a lunch and learn with Chris!
In his spare time, Chris enjoys traveling, playing golf, fishing, and boating with his wife Kari and two kids Taya and Trent.
